Preparations for SCVQA's Quilt Show: 40 Years of Quilted Memories

Temporary Quilt Show Work Desk
If you are wondering why there haven't been many finished quilt posts--its because I've been logging hours and hours getting ready for our bi-annual quilt show.  This year's quilt show theme is 40 Years of Quilted Memories as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of our association, and the quilt show committee has been working hard to organize yet another fabulous quilt show.

So for the past few week's I've set up shop in the living room to organize everything for the set up, layout and take down for the quilt show.  We have an impressive line up of 350+ quilts, 27 vendors and special exhibits such as our 40th Anniversary display, workshop quilts, Philanthropy, Quilt Appraisals, Miniature Quilts Display, Opportunity Baskets, our Featured Artist Sue Frame, Bay Area Modern Quilt Guild exhibit and much, much more!  This year's quilt show will have a sleek new look thanks to newly purchased pipe and drape and an all new hanging system that will blend in with the black draped background--so our members' beautiful quilts will take center stage.

Speaking of quilts, I will have 4 quilts on display:  DNA Mapping along with the Blast from the Past Challenge display, Free Motion Fillers Sampler quilt, Panda-monium, and a yet to be posted quilt that I was secretly working on this past Fall.  And Alex will have her quilt included in the Children's Quilt display, along with 3 other young quilters!!

So I hope you can join us this Saturday, March 14th 10am-5 pm and Sunday, March 15th 10 am-5 pm in Exhibit Hall D at the Santa Clara Convention Center.  Tickets are $12 at the door and good all weekend.
