Earlier this week, I drove down to King City for 2 days of free motion quilting fun with the
Valley Heritage Quilt Guild. I left San Jose extra early to beat the southbound traffic, and arrived with time to explore the
San Lorenzo County Park. Being a weekday, the museums were closed, but there was plenty to discover on the grounds: windmill, train caboose, train depot, and antique farm equipment.

There was lots of design inspiration to be discovered among all the farm equipment on display.

Digging Up Some Design Inspiration |
Along with some natural inspiration in the form of drought-friendly plants.

I had plenty of time to explore the grounds, before heading into town to meet up with a group of guild members for a pre-meeting dinner. As I left the restaurant, I saw this large grape display along one of the buildings which was the perfect inspiration for the next day's Pebble & Play! workshop!

Pebble & Play! |
Since I presented my Free Motion CREA-TV & Reality lecture/trunk show the night before, I was able to expedite the opening orientation, which made for more practice time!! Over the course of the day, participants had a chance to get acquainted with what their machine likes/dislikes, and experiment with a variety of pebble designs.

Pebble & Play Practice |
I love watching everyone's quilt sandwiches transform with beautiful, modern, quilted textures, which were just begging to be touched!!
By the end of the day, quilters new to free motion quitling were making spectacular progress!!

And those who came with previous free motion quilting experience, left with lots of new motifs added to their quilting repertoire!!

Fun New Pebble Motifs |
Special thanks to Holly for inviting me back to lecture and teach, along with being a fabulous host. And many thanks to the
Valley Heritage Quilters (including a few new members from a neighboring guild) for joining the free motion quilting fun!!
