Online voting is open for this month's Modern Quilts Unlimited "Everything Old is New Again Block and Quilt Challenge" with this month's theme being the Double Pinwheel. Below is my modern makeover block: "Whimsical Whirligig."

Whimsical Whirligig: EQ7 and Foundation Pieced |
I used the following Cotton Couture Broadcloth solids: Limeade, Acid, Seafoam, Marine, Clay, Fog and Bright White. In fact, I had to purchase more yardage to carry this color theme through the remaining six block challenges and the final quilt construction.
Here are all 6 of my blocks redesigned thus far...it's exciting to see them as a collection!

You have been so busy. This is a delightful block; I hope to see it in person soon.
ReplyDeleteI like keeping busy---it keeps me out of trouble!! ;-)
DeleteLove the designs you have done so far, can't wait to see what's next. Is there anyway/anyplace to get your patterns? Loving your twist on old patterns, and, making them modern.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy--I just posted February's block: Ninja Star and that leaves 5 more blocks before putting it all together into a quilt. I will certainly consider drafting up a pattern once done, as all the blocks have been created in EQ7 and utilize foundation piecing. So it shouldn't be too difficult! Stay tuned...
