Flower Power Fun!!

Yesterday was the debut of my fun new workshop:  Mod Molas & Bright Blooms.  This workshop combines my love of fabric, free-motion quilting, flowers and a super fun final reveal!!
You Don't Have to Take My Word...Check Out the Smiles on These Fun & Fearless Quilters!!
Everyone arrived early and well-prepared with their fabrics, threads and sewing machines.  Once our quilt sandwiches were prepped, we were ready to stitch up our whimsical floral scenes.  I quickly polled the class to get a sense of their experience and comfort with free-motion class.  Most of the participants rated themselves as being fairly new/inexperienced with free-motion quilting, to which I commended their bravery and provided reassurance that this project was very doable!!  Everyone doodled out different designs and then dove right into the quilting process.  Some started out stitching slowly & methodically, while others were pedal to the metal!!  Some chose to work with bold solid threads, whereas others added a little sparkle with variegated threads.  Some focused on one large flower, whereas others created a lovely bouquet.  Regardless of flowers, thread selection or stitching speed, everyone made wonderful progress and completed all elements of their wholecloth quilt design.  Although I noticed some faster stitching as we neared the end, as they were all excited for the next step...
Fabulous Free-Motion Quilted Floral Designs
While each of these Wholecloth Quilts were pretty spectacular...it was time to add some Mod Mola Magic!  Yes--they were eager to pull out their trusty seam ripper and thread snips and get to work on carefully trimming away swatches of the top fabric for a fun reveal...
Mod Mola Magic
By the end of class, every single quitler had incorporated beautiful free-motion quilting and fantastic fabric reveals. What an especially fun treat for me to watch each of these fancy flowers germinate, grow and then bloom into brilliance!!  Thanks for adding so much beauty into the world!!
Blooming Brilliance!!
